Home to Elephants, Tigers, Niligiri Langur’s and a haven for nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger, Thekkady is Kerala’s answer to a relaxing and rejuvenating break among the hills. WHERE TO STAY IN THEKADDY
Your stay can make or break your vacation. While choosing hotels in Kerala, you need to extensively search various factors like location, view, hygiene to name a few and TripAdvisor has been our best friend when it comes to this. Thanks to the brilliant reviews we saw on TripAdvisor, we chose to stay at Poetree Sarvor Portico, a luxurious resort tucked away in the dense evergreen forests among the hills, promising fantastic views and a tranquil vacation.
POETREE SAROVAR PORTICO
We love the concept of sustainable travel and always look out for eco friendly and sustainable hotels and thats how we found this gem. To reach the hotel is an adventure in itself as its located on a steep upward slope. In case you are driving and unsure if you can drive up, the hotel will arrange for a jeep to take you up while a valet will take care of your vehicle.
Poetree Sarovar Portico is the kind of hotel which drives all stress and schedules out of your mind, the perfect hotel to lounge by the pool with a good book in one hand and drink on the other.
THE ROOMS
The hotel is located on a hill top assuring breath taking views from every corner of the property including your shower. The hotel has Club rooms, Deluxe cottages and Presidential suites complete with private jacuzzis overlooking the hills. We stayed at the Presidential suite which super luxurious and we cherished each and every sunrise we witnessed from our balcony on our stay here.
THE FOOD
Poetree Sarovar Portico has three restaurants- Kusini, Terrace dining at 360 degree and Shappu Bar. When you live among the spices, need we say how delicious and aromatic the food is. The chef takes note of the guest’s palettes and prepares a menu according to what they would enjoy. The food was so good that we used to look forward to each and every meal, highlight being the local delicacies ofcourse, along with surprise signature dishes from exotic parts of the world.
THE ACTIVITIES
Poetree has a spectacular infinity pool which is where you would be, most of your vacation. They also have an amazing library and game room for the children and a state of the art Spa facility. The property also offers guided nature walks, guided forest drives, picnics to nearby attractions and so on.
